The most popular new food regulation issued by EU

  • Detail

The European Union has promulgated new food regulations that stipulate the maximum limit of food pollutants. By 2022, the European Union announced that the new regulations on the maximum limit of food pollutants (regulation ec1881/2006) will come into force on March 1, 2007, and the original regulation ec466/2001 on food pollutants will be repealed at the same time. It is reported that the new EU regulations on the maximum limit of food pollutants set the maximum limit requirements for six categories of food pollutants, including nitrate, mycotoxins, heavy metals, dioxins, dioxin like PCBs and trichloropropanol. The above pollutants involve a wide range of food and agricultural products, and almost all aquatic products, animal products, grain products, condiments, canned food, vegetables, fruits, alcohol, etc. are within the monitoring scope of the new regulations

it is reported that on december30,2006, the EU also published regulation No. 1924/2006 on food nutrition and health declaration. The regulation has been implemented since july1,2007. It applies to any food or drink sold in the EU market for human consumption. Its purpose is to ensure that the nutritional information provided to consumers on food packaging is accurate and reliable. To this end, the regulations set out specific requirements for labeling and advertising

at the same time, the European Commission will formulate specific regulations and exemptions for the use of nutritional data before January 19, 2009, as a guide for the use of food nutrition and health statements. The nutrition data regulations strictly define the statements on the content of salt, sugar and fat. Some manufacturers believe that this will greatly increase their compliance burden and ultimately reduce the information available to consumers. It is reported that these nutritional data will be based on the scientific opinions of the European food safety agency. Within two years after the entry into force of the regulation, the European Commission will consult the relevant industry, and then submit a proposal to the Standing Committee on the food chain and animal health. If it is supported by the Commission, the Commission will adopt the bill in accordance with the procedures and take effect after it is published in the official gazette of the European Union

in addition, as for many long-standing health statements, the performance Committee of European ABS will prepare a list based on the statements submitted by Member States. As long as the manufacturer can confirm that the health statement is indeed related to the product, and the food itself is consistent with the nutritional data, the food label can still use the relevant health statement. At the same time, according to EU law, if the regulatory authority of a member state determines that a food does not meet the requirements of EU food regulations, it will report this information to the European Commission. The European Commission composite material is made of graphene interconnected batteries sandwiched between ceramic layers. The Commission will issue the above notice every week to inform Member States to take corresponding measures
