on March 11, 2011, Beijing time, a magnitude 9 earthquake occurred in the sea area near the east coast of Honshu, Japan. The huge tsunami caused by the earthquake hit the eastern coastal areas of Japan, including Miyagi, Fukushima, Iwate, Tochigi and Ibaraki Prefecture. The earthquake and tsunami have caused huge casualties and property losses. The production of various industries in the earthquake area and the earthquake affected zone has been hit hard. Here is a detailed introduction. A large number of factories were forced to shut down. However, at present, no construction machinery enterprises have announced to stop production
in view of the impact of the Japanese earthquake on China's construction machinery industry, I have the following comments:
1 Impact on the supply of hydraulic parts: Japanese hydraulic parts are mainly produced by Kawasaki, whose production base of hydraulic parts is far away from the earthquake stricken area, and the impact is small, so the supply of hydraulic parts produced by domestic excavators will remain stable; 2. Impact on engine supply: Isuzu's engine capacity may be damaged, affecting the excavator production of domestic manufacturers. Cummins engine is mainly produced outside Japan and will not be affected by the earthquake; 3. Impact on the domestic and international vehicle market: Komatsu is also an instructor of technology and experience in Japan, and the production capacity of its construction machinery vehicles, parts and engines has been weakened. The construction machinery products produced in China will be sold back to Japan, and the Chinese OEMs may face greater domestic and international market space; 4. Impact on the export of China's construction machinery: due to the high cost performance of China's concrete pump trucks and cranes, the export volume to Japan is expected to increase with the addition of photoelectric receiving elements at the grating side, while domestic excavators, bulldozers, loaders and other machinery are difficult to export to Japan because their emission requirements cannot meet Japanese standards
on the whole, the Japanese earthquake has a certain impact on China's construction machinery, and the engine supply may decline. However, considering the existing spare parts inventory, it is expected that domestic main engine manufacturers can maintain normal production in the short term. Among the excavator main engine plants, Liugong's production will not be affected due to the use of Cummins engine, and may benefit from the limited capacity of other main engine plants
risk tip: due to the long industrial chain of construction machinery products, it is difficult to grasp the damage of suppliers in the whole industrial chain
